Airbnb Guests Can Now Earn Delta Miles on Experiences and Services

The expanded partnership triples the earn rate for Experiences compared to stays

As of today, Delta SkyMiles Members can earn 3x miles on Airbnb Experiences and Services. The partnership between the two companies goes back to 2016, but until now, only Airbnb stays qualified.

The new earn rate is 3 miles per $1 on Experiences and Services, tripling the 1 mile per $1 on stays. Any guest with a linked Delta account can earn miles every time they book on Airbnb.

How the Program Works

To earn miles, guests connect their SkyMiles and Airbnb accounts at deltaairbnb.com. The connection now lasts for 10 days, replacing the old system that required guests to re-link through Delta's portal before every booking. Guests can also preview estimated miles at checkout before they book.

NerdWallet values Delta SkyMiles at approximately 1.2 cents per mile. That puts the 3X earn rate on Experiences at roughly 3.6 cents back per dollar spent. The 1X rate on stays works out to about 1.2 cents per dollar.

All Airbnb Stays and Experiences qualify for miles, however some third-party Services are excluded.

The higher earn rate on Experiences and Services is worth noting in context. Airbnb has been steadily expanding these categories since launching them in May 2025, adding private car transfers, grocery delivery, and other services. Tripling the miles earn rate compared to stays is a straightforward way to use an existing airline partnership to push guests toward the categories that Airbnb’s investing heavily into.

The Bigger Picture

This doesn't change how hosts operate day to day. But it adds useful context for understanding where Airbnb is steering the platform.

The 3-to-1 earn rate gap between Experiences and stays signals where Airbnb wants to drive guest spending.

And for anyone tracking the broader loyalty conversation: the Delta expansion adds another building block. Airbnb's layering loyalty mechanics into the platform piece by piece, even though a standalone loyalty program hasn't launched yet.
