Hospitable has officially launched a fully automated Security Deposit feature. For the first time, deposit collection, guest identity verification, and chargeback protection are bundled into a single, end-to-end process with no manual work required by the host.
Once a host sets the deposit amount for a property, the system takes care of the rest. Deposits are requested, held, and released automatically from reservation through checkout. There’s no need for booking platform integrations, third-party tools, or manual follow-ups.
Guests are required to complete identity verification before receiving check-in details. This step builds in accountability and reduces risk for hosts. Hospitable also handles all deposit-related communications, including payment requests, reminders, and confirmations, so hosts can stay hands-off.
If damage occurs or items go missing, hosts can submit a charge request directly through the Hospitable inbox. Most cases are resolved in less than 24 hours. And if a guest disputes the charge, Hospitable’s built-in chargeback protection shields hosts from payment reversals.
Hospitable charges a flat 2% fee per deposit. That includes every element of the process: deposit handling, guest communication, ID verification, and chargeback protection. According to Hospitable CEO Pierre-Camille Hamana, this integrated approach ensures deposits are no longer an "afterthought," but rather a seamless part of every booking.
The new feature is now live and available to all Hospitable users. It is one of the most complete and host-friendly deposit tools currently available that works with Airbnb’s recent Policy Changes.
