On September 17th, Hospitable launched Split Payouts for eligible Vrbo and direct bookings. It sends the manager’s share and the owner’s share from one reservation to their separate bank accounts.
Hospitable already automates lodging taxes for Vrbo and direct bookings. Split Payouts addresses another task: one party receiving the full booking payment, then transferring the other’s share after reconciling owner statements.
How the Split Works
The management agreement sets the manager’s commission and determines how fees and taxes are divided. Terms can differ by property, and both the property manager and owner need verified bank accounts.
Hospitable schedules the payouts around check-in or once the booking can no longer be cancelled or changed. The deposits follow the applicable bank processing schedule, so check-in doesn’t guarantee that the money arrives that day.
Hospitable’s support guide also explains refunds. The agreement determines whose share covers a refund first. If that share falls short, Hospitable takes the remainder from that party’s future payouts. Changes to an agreement don’t recalculate money already sent.
Who Can Use It and What It Costs
Direct Premium bookings and eligible Vrbo Official reservations qualify when Hospitable processes the guest payment. Direct Basic and Direct Lite don’t qualify. Airbnb and Booking are outside this feature, though Airbnb has its own co-host payout system.
Split Payouts is available on Hospitable’s Mogul plan, which starts at $99 a month for 3 active properties and $30 per additional active property. Hospitable doesn’t charge extra to divide the payout, though its existing payment fees still apply to the booking.
The first owner withdrawal each month is free. Hospitable charges the owner for additional withdrawals that month. Both the property manager and owner currently need US bank accounts, with UK support upcoming.
What Owners See
Owners can receive their share before the monthly statement is published. The statement later marks the reservation as paid, with any corrections shown as adjustments.
