Guesty is partnering with Column to offer banking designed for professional property managers. Eligible Guesty customers in the United States and internationally can now apply for Column deposit and trust accounts.
The immediate change is access to accounts designed for holding and moving money for property owners. The deeper connection between Column’s banking system and Guesty’s property management platform is still planned.
Why This Matters for Property Managers
Property managers have a more complicated banking workflow than a typical host managing one or two properties. They may collect guest payments for several owners, hold deposits, pay vendors, and transfer earned management fees into an operating account. Depending on local rules, some of that money may need to remain in a properly structured trust account.
Even opening those accounts can require extra explanation when bank employees are less familiar with property-management trusts and pass-through FDIC requirements. Once the accounts are open, reservation records may sit in a PMS while deposits and owner payments sit in the bank. Managers then need to match the two systems and produce statements that show each owner how booking revenue, expenses, fees, and payouts connect.
The Guesty and Column partnership addresses those two layers separately. Column provides the banking accounts and controls now. The planned Guesty integration is intended to reduce the reconciliation and distribution work later.
What's Available Now and What Comes Later
Column is a nationally chartered, FDIC-member bank. At launch, its accounts support separate trust and operating funds, permissions based on employee roles, and approval controls. Owner funds may qualify for pass-through FDIC insurance when the applicable requirements are met.
These banking functions do not yet reconcile automatically with Guesty. The companies plan to connect banking activity with Guesty’s financial records, beginning with automated trust-account reconciliation and faster owner distributions. They have not provided a launch date.
More STR Tools Are Tackling Payment Work
Guesty isn't the only STR software company working on this problem. In September, Hospitable launched split payouts that send eligible owner and manager shares to separate bank accounts. Both announcements address the same kind of work: tracking who gets paid, moving money between accounts, and matching each payment to the right booking.
For now, Column gives eligible Guesty customers bank accounts and controls for handling owner funds. The larger change would come from the planned Guesty connection, which is meant to match bank activity with Guesty records and speed up owner payments. No launch date has been announced.
