Airbnb Teams with FIFA to Deliver Exclusive Football Experiences

Fans can stay local and train with legends, while host cities see a projected $3.6B windfall

Airbnb has solidified its relationship with FIFA through a landmark three-year partnership covering major tournaments, including the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, FIFA World Cup 2026, and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027. The collaboration makes Airbnb the official accommodations and experiences platform, giving fans around the world access to unique stays and exclusive football experiences.

As part of the partnership, Airbnb is now offering private training sessions with legendary players, building on Airbnb’s recent relaunch of Experiences and the debut of Airbnb Originals. Fans can book a private session with American goalkeeping icon Tim Howard or join pre-match briefings hosted by senior FIFA technical experts.

"Football has the power to bring people together in unforgettable ways," said Tim Howard. "This partnership gives fans a rare chance to step onto the pitch, train like a pro, and see the sport from the inside."

By tightly integrating its Experiences platform with the global excitement of football, Airbnb is positioning itself to deliver more than just lodging. These celebrity-hosted sessions elevate the brand while unlocking fresh economic opportunities for local hosts.

The expected economic impact is massive. Deloitte estimates that over 380,000 guests will stay in Airbnb’s during the 2026 tournament, contributing roughly $3.6 billion to Host City economies. Hosts across the 16 cities could earn up to $210 million, and the event is projected to support nearly 34,000 full-time jobs across the year.

To further boost local impact, Airbnb is also launching a $5 million Host City Impact Program. This targeted fund will support local initiatives aimed at improving the tournament experience for both residents and visitors.

"We’re proud to partner with FIFA to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences and generate meaningful economic value for local communities," said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky. The move brings Airbnb to the global football stage, and shows how the company is using live events to drive its brand reach.
